FAQs

Do I need surf experience to rent a surfboard in San Juan? No experience required, but a rental is the board only — no instruction. Most of our fleet is beginner-friendly and our crew will match you to a stable board. Want coaching? Book a WOW Surfing lesson instead. Standard or high-performance board — which should I rent? Standard boards are bigger and more stable, so they catch waves easily — ideal for beginners and improvers. High-performance boards are smaller and looser, built for surfers who can already turn and generate their own speed. Not sure? Our crew will pick for you. What do I need to bring to rent a surfboard? A valid photo ID and a bathing suit are the essentials. A towel, reef-safe sunscreen, and a rash guard make the session a lot more comfortable. Board, leash, and wax are on us. Can I add a surf lesson to my board rental? Yes. Book a private surf lesson for one-on-one coaching, or a group lesson if you are riding with friends or family. Both include board time so you can keep practicing afterward. What if the surf is flat or unsafe on my rental day? If conditions make it unsafe to paddle out, we'll reschedule your rental or refund it. Our crew makes that call on the day, based on what the ocean is actually doing.

Cancellations

Full refund may be issued for cancellations with 72 hours or more notice prior to tour start time. No refund issued for cancellation if less than 48 hours notice prior to tour start time.. No refund issued on same day cancellations. If you arrive late, you will be marked as a no‑show. All participants must arrive 30 minutes before their scheduled time slot. No exceptions.
