About this experience

The core of the trip is 3 full days of offshore bluewater spearfishing aboard our 28’ center console, running twin Yamaha 150s. You’ll spend 6 nights at our Patillas lodge, just steps from the water, with full access to reef spearguns and freedive gear including fins, mask, snorkel, dive belts, and weights—so you can dive on your own whenever conditions line up. Highlights

What makes this experience special is how everything lines up during this window on the south coast. It’s not always the calmest side of the island—but in the fall, the winds settle just enough to open up consistent access offshore. That timing overlaps perfectly with the wahoo migration, when fish move through in numbers along the offshore mounds. When it’s on, it’s on—and you’re in the right place for it. This is true bluewater hunting in moving water, not a controlled or predictable environment. You’re reading conditions, setting drifts, and putting yourself in position for fast, powerful fish that don’t stick around. It’s a more raw, engaged style of diving that rewards awareness and timing as much as skill. Outside of the offshore days, there’s a ton of freedom to explore. If you’ve got a car, we’ll point you toward a range of nearby dive spots within 10–20 minutes—wrecks, ledges, reefs, and plenty of target species to hunt depending on conditions. You’re not limited to one zone, and that flexibility makes a big difference over the course of the week. Or you can keep it simple and step straight into the water out front of the house. There are miles of clean, fishy reef to explore right there, with the kind of access that’s getting harder to find. Or if a nice south swell shows up grab one of the surfboards at the house and try taking on Inches, one of the premier left handers in the Caribbean. No rush, no schedule—just consistent water time when you want it. At the end of the day, it’s the combination of timing, location, local knowledge and freedom that sets this apart.
