About this experience
Step inside 500 years of history through local stories and legends brought to life by the storytelling of a certified guide. During this journey you’ll visit iconic landmarks and hidden corners! Meet your guide in the Cuartel Ballaja, the last monumental construction by the Spanish in the New World, and learn about the military history of Old San Juan. From there, we’ll visit the origins of this century-old city. Then we’ll admire the monumental Castillo San Felipe del Morro, the most iconic historical landmark in Puerto Rico, and learn about its construction and the attacks it endured throughout the centuries by invading European military forces. Continuing our journey, we’ll learn about two of the most important religious buildings in Puerto Rico and the hidden secrets they hold. After this, we’ll marvel at La Fortaleza, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and then visit the site of a local miraculous legend. Finally, we’ll pass through the last remaining main entrance to the city and stroll along a breathtaking waterfront promenade before finishing off in the most scenic walkway in the city where you can buy traditional Puerto Rican food and souvenirs from local artisans.
