Additional information
Check-in details Meeting Point: Plaza Colón To ensure a smooth check-in, please plan to arrive at the meeting location 10 to 15 minutes before the tour's scheduled start time. We offer a strict 5-minute grace period for unexpected delays. Please notify your tour guide. Out of respect and consideration for all participants who arrived on time, the tour will officially begin exactly 5 minutes after the scheduled hour. If you miss the group, we cannot guarantee you will be able to catch up, and refunds will not be issued for late arrivals. Parking instructions Do Not Park on the Street: Street parking in Old San Juan is highly restricted and heavily enforced. Parking in a residential or unauthorized street zone will result in a hefty traffic fine or having your vehicle towed. Recommended Parking: We highly recommend parking in one of the multi-story parking garages just outside the old city center, such as Estacionamiento Doña Fela or Galeria Paseo Portuario. From there, it is a quick, stress-free walk to our meeting point! Special requirements Suggestions for your comfort in the tour Sun Protection: Sunblock (SPF 30+ recommended), a wide-brimmed hat, and sunglasses. The Caribbean sun bounces right off the bright colonial walls! Footwear & Clothing: Comfortable, closed-toe walking shoes with good grip and lightweight, breathable clothing. Rain Gear (A Must): A compact travel umbrella or a lightweight rain poncho. Puerto Rico is famous for sudden, passing tropical showers—even on sunny days! Hand Fan: A small manual or battery-operated hand fan is a lifesaver during the humid midday hours. Cash for gratuities if you wish to tip your historian guide at the end of the tour Restrictions Please be aware that this experience is a fully active walking tour. Old San Juan is built on a hill, which means our route includes walking up and down steep streets, navigating high curbs, and traversing uneven terrain. Please ensure all members of your party are comfortable with sustained walking and inclines. Stay Hydated: It can get incredibly hot and sunny during the tour. While we provide one bottle of water, we highly recommend bringing your own refillable water bottle to stay extra hydrated. Dress Comfortably: Wear light, breathable clothing, a hat, sunglasses, and high-quality sunblock. Most importantly, wear supportive, comfortable walking shoes. This is a comprehensive, 3-hour cultural immersion. Because our expert guides are booked for the full duration and slots are limited, no refunds will be given if a customer decides to leave the tour before it officially ends. Please plan your day accordingly so you can enjoy the full experience! Disclaimers Weather & Cancellation Policy This tour takes place rain or shine. Puerto Rico's tropical showers are usually brief and beautiful! We recommend bringing a small umbrella or poncho just in case. The only time we will cancel a tour is in the event of dangerous weather conditions, such as a tropical storm, severe heavy rain warnings, or hurricanes. If we must cancel due to severe weather, you will be notified immediately and offered a full refund or a rescheduled date. Early Departures: The tour is a comprehensive 3-hour experience. If you choose to leave the tour early before it officially concludes, no partial or full refunds will be given. Guests are entirely responsible for their own personal items (cameras, phones, bags, etc.) throughout the duration of the tour. Please keep a close eye on your valuables as you walk. Restroom Availability Limited Public Restrooms: Public bathrooms are highly limited within the historic city of Old San Juan. For your convenience, your guide will provide two scheduled bathroom stops along our 3-hour route. If you need to use a restroom outside of our designated stops, please be aware that local business establishments strictly require you to make a purchase in order to use their facilities.
