About this experience
Let us take you beyond the city and into the heart of Puerto Rico for an authentic culinary experience where food, agriculture, history, and local traditions come together.
Itinerary
We begin our Puerto Rico food tour in San Juan at 9:00 AM and head into the lush countryside, where a family-owned coffee farm awaits. Walk through the plantation, learn about Puerto Rico’s rich coffee culture and heritage, discover how coffee is grown and processed, and finish with a tasting of locally produced specialty coffee. After approximately 90 minutes surrounded by tropical mountains and coffee plants, we continue to Guavate, one of Puerto Rico’s most celebrated destinations for authentic Puerto Rican food and local cuisine. Famous for its lechoneras, this mountain community offers a different side of the island, filled with the aroma of slow-roasted pork, traditional dishes, music, local families, and a relaxed countryside atmosphere. At a traditional lechonera, you’ll experience local flavors and traditional Puerto Rican dishes, including our famous roasted pork. Vegetarian guests are also welcome, with many delicious traditional options available. Depending on the day, live music may accompany your meal as you enjoy beautiful surroundings and river views. But this foodie experience is about more than eating. Along the way, your guide will share stories about Puerto Rican food culture, agriculture, and local communities. We then continue toward Caguas for a sweet final stop before returning to San Juan at approximately 3:00 PM.
