Check-in details Please arrive 10–15 minutes before your scheduled rental time at Cabezas de San Juan – Ensenada Yegua in Fajardo for check-in, equipment setup, and a brief safety orientation. Please allow enough time to park and walk to the rental location before your scheduled start time. Your rental time begins at the time shown on your reservation. Late arrival does not extend the rental period. If you need assistance finding the rental location, call 787-556-0104. What to bring Swimsuit or quick-dry clothing Towel, Water shoes or secure sandals, Reef-safe sunscreen, Sunglasses and hat Valid photo ID Waterproof phone case or dry bag (optional but recommended) Pet essentials (if bringing a pet) such as leash, water, and waste bags Special requirements Guests under 18 must be accompanied and supervised by a participating parent or legal guardian. All participants must complete the required waiver before receiving rental equipment. Participants must be able to follow basic paddling and safety instructions. Guests should be able to enter and exit the kayak with reasonable assistance. A valid photo ID is required at check-in. Please notify us in advance of any mobility limitations, medical concerns, or other circumstances that may affect safe participation. Personal flotation devices must be worn as instructed by Pirate Snorkeling Shack staff. Restrictions This self-guided rental may not be suitable for guests with serious back or neck conditions, recent surgery, severe balance issues, significant mobility limitations, or medical conditions that may be aggravated by paddling or changing marine conditions. Pregnant guests should consult their healthcare provider before participating if they have concerns about balance, physical activity, or water conditions. Participants must be able to enter and exit the kayak with reasonable assistance and maintain a stable seated position while paddling. Guests with limited mobility should contact us before booking so we can determine whether the rental is appropriate. There is no specific height restriction, but kayak fit and safe participation are subject to available equipment and staff assessment. Pirate Snorkeling Shack may restrict or refuse participation when weather, sea conditions, equipment fit, or a guest’s ability make the activity unsafe. Health & Safety A brief safety and paddling orientation is provided before launch, and personal flotation devices are included. Guests must follow all staff instructions, remain within their ability level, and use caution when launching, landing, or moving on wet and uneven surfaces. Please notify us before your rental of any medical condition, injury, mobility limitation, or other concern that may affect safe participation. Weather, currents, and sea conditions are continuously evaluated, and Pirate Snorkeling Shack may limit, delay, or suspend rentals when conditions are considered unsafe. Disclaimers Kayak rentals are subject to weather, sea conditions, currents, and safety. Routes and water access may be limited or adjusted when conditions require. This is a self-guided rental, and guests are responsible for paddling within their ability and returning all equipment within the selected rental period. Late arrival does not extend rental time. Wildlife sightings, water conditions, and access to specific areas cannot be guaranteed. Pirate Snorkeling Shack may suspend or restrict rentals when conditions are considered unsafe.

Do I need kayaking experience? No, this experience is suitable for beginners and experienced paddlers alike. A safety briefing is provided before departure. Where do we meet? Check-in takes place at Ensenada Yegua inside Cabezas de San Juan Natural Reserve. How early should I arrive? Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled start time. Is it really self-guided? Yes. You’ll receive a map and marine-life ID card, but you explore at your own pace without a guide on the water. Can I bring my pet? Yes, this is a pet-friendly experience. Owners are responsible for their pets at all times. Can I snorkel during the trip? Yes, snorkeling gear is available for rent for an additional fee. What happens if the weather is bad? For safety, trips may be delayed, rescheduled, or canceled due to weather conditions.
Cancellations
Free cancellation is available up to 48 hours before your scheduled rental for a full refund. Cancellations made within 48 hours of the scheduled rental time, as well as late arrivals and no-shows, are non-refundable. Requests to reschedule must be made at least 48 hours in advance and are subject to availability and any applicable change fees. Kayak rentals are subject to safe weather, sea conditions, currents, and operational conditions. If Pirate Snorkeling Shack determines that conditions are unsafe to operate, you will be offered the option to reschedule or receive a refund in accordance with our weather policy. Changes to routes, water access, paddling areas, or rental activity due to weather, currents, sea conditions, or safety are not considered operator cancellations and do not qualify for a refund. Late arrival does not extend the rental period. • 1-hour rentals must be returned within 1 hour of the scheduled start time. • 2-hour rentals must be returned within 2 hours of the scheduled start time. • Full-day rentals and all equipment must be returned by 4:30 PM. Please do not assume your rental is canceled based on rain, wind, clouds, or a weather forecast unless Pirate Snorkeling Shack contacts you directly.
